To be trans implies being in a state of transition whether that is at the beginning of realization that we are not in the place we are meant to be, somewhere in between, or have transitioned to that place we are meant to be. This is the gender spectrum for individuals who are trans. It is not the same spectrum as sexuality either as these two coexist side by side.

  4. kittyrinnaiko said: Where the spectrum comes in has to do with how the brain is wired. A person can be sexed (a), but do to the way their brain is wired they may identify as (b), ©, (d)… or (z). Now regarding the types of characters I write, I’ve always been drawn to strong female characters, so that’s what I like to write. I don’t write a character because I want to explore that character to get an idea what it’d be like.

We are learning now that things aren’t as cut and dried as people would like to thing. Chromosomally a person can have an extra chromosome, or even end up with the opposite sex as what their DNA sequence says they are supposed to have. Just look up articles about gender testing in the Olympics.
